Waves, made using stop-motion animation of backlit sand, explores various wave forms in nature as well as in the lives of individuals and society – their movements, connections and contrasts and the feelings they evoke. The waves on the screen intertwine with the film’s parallel lines.

    This experimental film was made by a student of the Academy of Arts, Architecture Design in Prague. According to her own words, the director was inspired by the undiscovered secrets of the universe. To create the visual style of her film, she used computer programmes and collected numerical data that served as a basis for the film’s soundtrack built upon their exact sound representation and conversion.
